All of my bows have the following guarantee:
Wooden longbows are natural products and as such do not have the predictable nature of a modern bow incorporating synthetic materials. I expect my bows to last and be reliable and consistent in their performance over a considerable length of time provided the use and care instructions and advice are followed. However, the unexpected and the unfortunate can happen.
Laminated Bows:
If the bow breaks or develops a serious fault, up to three months from the date of purchase replacement, refund or repair will be granted free of charge. If the same happens between three and six months after purchase then similar will be offered at half of the initial purchase price. If the same happen between six months and a year from purchase, cost for repair or replacement will be three quarters of purchase price (or refund of a quarter of the price).
Self Bows:
If the bow breaks or develops a serious fault, up to three months from the date of purchase replacement, refund or repair will be granted free of charge. If the same happens between three and six months after purchase then similar will be offered at half of the initial purchase price.
If replacement is offered, it will not be eligible for upgrade or modification of original specifications in any way. It is also up to my discretion to decide which is most appropriate between replacement, refund or repair. It is also my decision which mode of repair is employed of standard bowyer’s methods e.g. re-lamination, bloom, splice, Dutch-thumb etc.
